So now, like I said, you're going to have to give a place for the air to escape. If you like the look of just looking like a very thick bowl then you can just take your needle tool and poke a small hole in the bottom. That'll be enough. But if you want to add some extra decoration you can cut some holes in the outer wall. Now I'm using a hole cutting tool. It's a pipe, it's cut on an angle so that it's got a really sharp point but it makes a perfectly circular hole. You're going to take that and just stick it into the clay and as I stick it in I'm going to twist and that makes a perfectly circular hole, and then I'm going to take a sharp knife and cut a few decorative little designs out, and if it's at the leather hard state this should cut really easily. The pieces should separate from the other piece very nicely. If it's too soft everything is going to stick together and you're going to have a hard time getting your cut pieces out. Let it dry up a little bit more, and if it's too hard you're going to have trouble cutting through it. And you can fix that by spraying it down and letting it sit until the clay has absorbed some water. So I'll do this on two other sides of the pot so that it's at even thirds and I'll have a nice little decoration on the outside of my double walled bowl.
