"So, now that I've got a basic form built up with the coils it's pretty close to on center. The walls are pretty close to evenly consistently thick. What I can do, is actually use my throwing techniques. Get the wall on the interior a little bit moist. And, stretch this pot out and shape it to what I'm looking for. Now, I'm pushing from the inside and the outside simultaneously towards each other and just moving my hands up the pot. Now, what this is doing is smoothing out the coils on the inside and also making the walls a little bit smoother and more consistent. I'll do this a couple times. And, like I said if you're not extremely proficient at throwing yet this is a good way to get larger pieces that are a little bit more consistent than you would be able to get by throwing alone. Now, for the rim all you have to do is take your needle tool and hold it at an even place and cut off whatever excess you've got. And, then hold the sponge over the edge to round that off. And, then I can show you how to get some shape into this cylinder. I'll turn it into a mug for the purposes of this project."
