For larger flatter pieces, you could fit this into your dipping pan. But, you probably don't want to. And, the reason for that is a big wide area like this as you tilt it in it's going to displace a lot of wax and you're going to get a return wave. And, it's going to cause some lines on your pot that you really don't want. And, it's hard to remove wax once you've gotten it into a place you don't want it. So, I have a banding wheel here that I've actually glued a back to, to make it a little bit bigger. You're going to set your piece upside down on your banding wheel. Spin it with your left hand and tap it onto center with your right. Now, once you've got that piece centered you're going to take one of your wax brushes. You want to go ahead and wherever you've made your mark, fill that in first. Because, when you band this it's going to skip over it and you might end up getting some glaze in there that you don't want. So, now that you've done that you just get your brush nice and full of wax and you hold it up against the pot. You want to make sure that you get down and look and see how deep that wax line actually is. You want it to be about a quarter of an inch or maybe a little tiny bit more, if you have some glaze that is very runny. Have a wide brush in your wax pan is nice for this purpose. You can just do one big swab and you're done. Now, I'm going to show you how to wax a lidded piece.
