"So now if you have a lidded piece, it's really important that you don't have glaze in between the lid and the piece itself, or it'll fuse and you'll never be able to get the lid off. So the way that you do take care of this is you set your lid upside down on your banding wheel, get it on center, and then take your brush and make a band that goes up the interior rim just a little bit. And then around the exterior rim, just enough so that when you set it back in there won't be any glaze touching any part of that pot. Now you also need to wax the rim of the pot. Same way, tap it on center, take your brush and hold it against the rim. You only need to glaze this interior lid gallery. You can leave this having glaze on it. And when the lid's on there, you won't even really see that there?s any glaze missing. You also need to wax the bottom of this piece as well. Just like everything else. And I see that I made a drip of wax. That actually is very good because I can show you know how to get that off."
