So when you're setting your studio up for the first time, it's important to think about the flow of the process of clay, and set it up accordingly. I keep my clay in boxes under this table. This is where I wedge the clay and prepare it to throw. Then I move over to my wheel to do my throwing. Once things come off of the wheel, they can go right into this damp closet to set up and wait for the next step. Now once something is completely done and I fire it in the bisque firing which is the first time you fire, I bring it back out and I set it on these shelves right here. Now this is my glazing area. These tables here, I do all of my glaze work, and underneath are all of my buckets of glaze. Now once pieces have been glazed, that's what these are over here, they've just got a powdery surface, that's what they look like prior to going through the firing. My kiln is just outside that door, so it's an easy step to get out there. So I got everything set up so that it flows, and I don't have to go back and forth or crisscross to get things done. And that's a good thing to think about when you're setting your studio up for the first time.
