OK, we're ready to do the pedestal. So I've centered the clay again. Once again I'm going to push down with my right hand. But this time, I'm going to go all the way through to the bat head, with my left finger and pull out. And now, I'm going to do it again with my right thumb and push under. But this time I'm looking to make a shape that comes up and out. So I'm going to push in a lot at the bottom and a little bit less as I come up towards the top. I want to leave enough room that I can get my fingers in there again. You don't want to push it in to tight that you can't get your fingers in to thin it anymore. But once you've gotten the basic shape roughed in, you can push it in a little bit more. And as you pull and pinch and compress, just pull it out to give that bell shape. Now we're going to take our rib again and compress, push in. Now we really want to start to get the stem a little bit more narrow at the base. And pull this out. Now here is where if you have a curved rib it really comes in handy. You want to get that cleaned off. And you can give your final compression and pulling against this curved rib, and give you a really nice form. So, there we have the pedestal. We'll undercut and finish off the edge. And then we'll let them set up and we'll put them together
