There's a third way to make a spout for a pitcher, that I know of. There may be even more. But I've already thrown this form. I threw it yesterday, so it's nice and firm as you can see. And what I'm going to do, this is when you add a spout. So I'm going to take a little bit of clay. Take my wire cutter and I'm going to cut a pretty even piece of clay. And what I'm going to do, to make a slab so that I can have something even for my spout, is I'm just going to throw this down on the table and pull it towards me as I throw it. And this thins out the piece of clay that I'm working with, evenly. Kind of like a pizza dough almost, the way that you would stretch it. And you just throw it, you might want to tap the edge to make sure that it stays in even thickness. And get it to where it's as thin as you want. I want it to be similar to the thickness of the pitcher that I've already made. And that's about right.
