"Ok there is a couple of different ways once you've finished the pot to move it to where you need it to go. One way is to actually take the bat, sometimes you have to use your rib, and take the bat completely off the wheel and go set it where you need to go, but since this pot has been firmed up by the torch there's another way that you can take care of it. We'll sit it off to the side, it takes up less room. The way that I'm going to do that is by taking my wire tool just like I've used to cut the clay a number of times before and I'm going to cut right underneath there. Now before you pick something up whenever you cut it off the wheel you want to make sure your hands are pretty clean, well you know as clean as they can be when you're throwing. So you're going to wipe them off a little bit, scrape them on the edge of your bucket. You always want to have a towel nearby. Make sure your hands are dry. This is going to make a big difference trying to pick this up, and then you just gently cradle the pot in your hands and you can pull it right off the wheel and take it wherever it needs to go."
