"Now we’re going to introduce the basic components of the lion dance. Probably the most important part of the lion dance is of course, the lion itself. The lion is performed by 2 performers. One is under the head of the lion and the other is under the tail. The lion’s mouth, eyes, and ears are able to move on their own. Here is the drum, which functions as the heartbeat of the lion. The symbol and the gong will provide excitement during the performance. Here we have the Buddha, which leads the lion through the dance."
