"DEB HUGLIN VOGEL: Hi, I'm Debbie "The Roboteer," and I'm here today for Expert Village. And we're making a wire sculpture the way Sandy Calder taught me out of one piece of wire, so it has lots of tensile strength and it's very kinetic. So far, we've made the head and eyes, the arms and legs, and the tail. At this point in time, I want it to be real Southwestern sort of lizard so I'm going to give it some spikes on its back. And for that, I want my flat pliers that can give me nice, good ridges, and I'm going to start making ridges. So we kinda have a Gila monster going here. I'm not sure how many Gila monsters they had in California, but they certainly had enough out in the desert. This is San Diego; it's not exactly that dry. And then you just want to come down and see if it's long enough. There you go. It's pretty good. Okay. So here are the ridges that go down the back. I'll give this a little twist, then I'm going to go ahead and twist right up to the head and come back down the neck. So you can see, you have your lizard with its ridges and its legs and its tail, and now all we need to finish up is the body."
