"There's special effects that are possible, gliss is one. Other special effects, kind of a percussive sound. Usually the director or composer would hope for a nice tone that is loud instead of a bracky sound. We played Jaws earlier. There's the sound of a train going by. There's numerous sound that sounds like a machine gun. Make up some sounds and try to experiment with special effects. The trombone is great for all these things."
