"This is Eileen Haller for Expert Village. About five years ago I started doing the craft of mosaic. Being that I am from a very artistic family it was something that really captured my attention and today I'm going to show you my technique of how I create mosaic craft. OK, mosaic for me is about a treasure hunt. I look for pieces in fish stores, the Salvation army is a great place, or I go to the local home improvement store. I go to the beach. These are all materials that I have gathered from my hunts. This is regular tile from a home improvement store. These are dishes that I found at a Salvation Army or thrift store. Tiles that were donated to me. I get lots of donations from friends and acquaintances. Obviously sea shells. Craft stores, these great marbles are really wonderful to use. And these are some of my favorite things. These are cup handles and they make perfect hearts. What I do is I adhere my ceramic to pieces that already exist. Glass vases, I use terracotta pots, I use stepping stones that are plain stepping stones and then make them into beautiful mosaic stepping stones. I use glass table tops to make mosaic table tops and I'm going to show you how I do that."
