"In this clip we'll be demonstrating small jumps, both sotaes and achipaes. Demonstrating for us today is Joleen Stevens. She's going to start in a beautiful position with her heels together and her toes turned out. She's going to plie first, jump straight up in the air, full length extending the feet, and coming back down into plie. Now she's going to do that in a series of four. And one, and two, and three, and four. Beautiful. She's also going to do a sotae in a second position. And plie and jump and series of four, two, three, and four. Thank you. She's going to come back into first now and demonstrate an achipae, which means 'to escape.' Arms and legs are together, arms and legs open to second, and she brings them back together again. Notice that when the arms are apart, her feet are apart, when the arms are together, the feet are together. Good. Now we're going to put it all together and do sotaes and achipae sotaes. And one, and two, and three, and four, and one, and two. Beautiful. Very nice. Thank you so much. And that concludes our small jumps."
