"Hi my name is Elissa with Expert Village and today I'm going to show you how to crochet a beanie. Hi I'm Elissa and I have been crocheting for about 16 years now and today I'm going to show you how to crochet a beanie. These are a few of the styles of beanies that I'm going to teach you how to make today. This is kind of your basic plain beanie. It is going to be crochet in a spiral pattern to make the shape. I'm also going to show you some different stitches you can use to get a few different pattern on your beanie and I would also show you how to make beanies with cuffs and beanies with the little pop tops on the top of them. So supplies you would need to make your beanie are a pair of scissors to cut your yarn and you would need one of these hooks. I recommend getting 3 different sizes so you can work with different sizes of yarn. This is a 6.5 millimeter hook, this is a 5 millimeter hook and this is a 3 millimeter hook. So in this series I'm going to teach you how some basic crochet stitches apply to making a beanie. In the next clip I will be showing you some different kind of yarns that you can use. "
