"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Emily DeCola in Puppet Kitchen in New York City. Today we are going to talk about theatrical mask. So what that allows us to do having that plaster cast available is make sure for the most important thing get the eyes in the right place. It is very easy when you are designing a mask if you are not working on top of a plaster model to create a sculpture. In this case I was sculpturing in clay directly onto the plaster mask. To create a sculpture that places the eyes too far apart or too close together or too far from the bottom or too far from the top. Unfortunately when you are in that situation with the mask unlike designing a puppet there is nothing you can do. The mask if you can not see through the mask and you can't really locate the eyes assuming you want your performer to be looking through the characters eyes you are in real trouble. So I highly recommend it. "
