Video Transcript

"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Emily DeCola in the Puppet Kitchen in NYC and today we are going to talk about theatrical masks. I actually got interested in puppetry in first place I use doing an anthropology degree at the University and I was ended up doing a thesis project about masks used in a couple of different cultures in Asia. I was particularly interested in noh mask from Japan and mask performance in China. So if you were watching this post and interested in doing some research I highly recommend looking into noh mask (that is noh) it's an Asian kind of mask. Look into wooden mask from Indonesia, in Europe there is strong mask traditions as well and performances."
