my name is Eric Jacobson and I'm Donna Roesel and we are here at Dance Manhattan Studios in New York City to show you and teach you West Coast Swing. We're going to start with the starter step, simply called, it's two triple steps. But we start in closed positions, that's how we start the dance, we want to be in close so that we're closer together so that we can feel each other connecting a little better. So, leaders I'm gonna show you how to connect with the follower. We're gonna be in closed position and what that means is that my hand is on her back. Leaders you're going to take your right hand, gonna take your right hand and I want you to put it on the bottom part of her left shoulder blade, her left shoulder blade, curve your hand so that you fit the curve of her shoulder blade nicely. Followers you're going to take their left arm and just relax it, just on top of his, be sure you're not too tight. The hand should be in front, not behind.
