"Hi, I'm Dr. Charles Grimes and I'm speaking on behalf of Expert Village about preparing for the business end of an audition and preparing for callbacks. If you're going to give a performance, if you're going to give a monologue, it has to do with your own personal energy. We've talked about relaxing and focusing, we've talked about finding your energy through a series of warm up exercises. Now let's think simply about bodily physically terms of being ready for that one moment. You'll have to concentrate your energy into one or two minutes or three minutes, there'll be a period of waiting. You cannot get through this on nerves alone. You cannot say I'm going to be excited. You can be excited two hours from now. You have to have your energy ready and available to you, after you've waited, after you've gotten there, after they've asked you who you are, after you've done your warm up exercises. So this is just a simple note, make sure you're eating healthy, make sure you're not overdosing on junk food, make sure that you've slept enough to give yourself a solid base of energy for the next day. This is all up to you. It's your own entire responsibility. You wouldn't show up for a rehearsal not having sleep or not having eaten so make sure that you're doing all that you would, treating this as a super, important, special rehearsal, or even as I've mentioned, a job interview. So be there, eat well, rest well, this is an important day. You want to get done with this day, tell your friends about how great it was so be ready simply by eating and resting well."
