" My name is Dwayne Carter and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I am talking today about cleaning brass instruments. We are looking specifically at valve brass instruments here. I have brought along a trumpet, a fluegelhorn and a valve trombone. If you notice all three have valves and slides. Slide here is the tuning slide and then each valve has a slide. Here is the first valve slide, the second valve slide and on this side we have the third valve slide. The valves are 1, 2 and 3 and then you have on this side the pipe leading to the bell and here we have the lead pipe and of course there is a mouthpiece that goes along with the instrument. The components are the same for each of the instruments. Here in the fluegelhorn you will see again the valves, the bell, the lead pipe, the slides and then in this case the tuning slide is here in the front, but all the components are basically the same. So for our cleaning purposes, we need to clean each one of those items. So that is it for the components of the horn."
