Hi I'm David Cantieni on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to be sharing with you some useful techniques for practicing the Irish style flute. I would just like to tell you about a little bit more about jig time and how the off beat lies. I'm going to put the metronome on as you know with the reel the off beat is directly in the middle in between Duh Duh Duh. But in a jig the off beat is just one one and duh, its the D, if your going one A and uh, one A and uh, one A and uh,one the one the one. Duh Duh Duh so when you are playing a jig that is were it lyes. You can get a certain amount of lift by accenting that note. Sometimes you think of jigs of groups of six. So it would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,1,2,3,4,5,6. so I recommend trying that with your metronome and experimenting and see what you find.
