"Hi, I am David Clemen on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to learn the basics of drawing. So in closing we have learned lots of different techniques. We have learned to warm up and we use a very simple tool like a soft lead or something that is easy to move around on the paper. We have done gesture drawings, the spiral technique. We have learned a little bit about shading. We have learned some things about doodling, free styling. All these things are in preparation to do more detail drawings and so forth, but the key is you have to get use to this tool before you do anything because it has to become an extension of your hand to help you communicate the ideas that you have inside your noggin. So if you are not comfortable with this it is going to be hard to communicate with this tool or any other tool for that matter. For example, your basic number two pencil is about a sixteenth to a thirty second of an inch. That is considered a precision tool. So it is easier to use a big fat tool to start with when you are just learning and to go to something so precise as a pencil. AS if you start with a precise tool it is hard to get loose. So basically just give yourself a break and get use to your tools first and relax and use newsprint and you will be fine and then you can move forward."
