"Now we have our paper, we have our borders. We've got our baby blue pencil sharp, sharpened, sharp, sharp, sharpened. I'm going to take this pencil and I'm just going to lay out my composition before I start to really get dark with the black pencil. All right, so I usually start with the eyes and I'm not going to do a photo realistic drawing, but I am going to do a portrait of a woman. I usually start with the eyes, and I've been drawing faces for a long time. So, just come in here, and I'm just going to pull out the eye right there. Then I want to come over and indicate the other eye, which would be my right but her left eye. I'll come in and do the eye lids. I'm just going to indicate the nose. And indicate the eyes here. And I just want to get the basic kind of concept of what this portrait is going to look like with this light blue pencil, and then I'll get darker as I go. And so this is the beginning of a portrait. And this is more of an advanced technique. And so now that I've got the eyes and the nose, I'll come over here and indicate the ears. And they might get covered up by hair, but at least I'll know where they are at. And so I'll just do this real lightly. And that is working with the baby blue pencil to lay out your portrait."
