"Hi I am David Clemen on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to paint with acrylics the female figure. Now that we have the figure where we want it basically I am going to go in and add in this hat and then this feather. The hat is a lot lighter than this feather, the feather is basically black but when you use black, just because it is black doesn't mean there aren't the shades of black because see there is different highlights in this black feather and the actual quill of the feather has a huge highlight on it in the middle and that's how you know it is a feather. First I am going to do the black or the hat. I'm just going to kind of go over it and it is very severe like so I am going to kind of lay this out with white with a touch of raw sienna and you can almost make it a little bit bigger in this painting to emphasize that it is a hat and then it looks like it is wrapped in feathers so you can basically, I'm going to go with the raw sienna first with a little bit of black, because like I said if I go just black first it is going to be hard for me to revert back to something lighter so I am going to indicate that there is feather marks here with the darker version of the raw sienna and it is kind of intermittently mixed up here on this hat and then once I do that I can go with mostly all black and kind of mix up the feathers. I am using the small point tip of the brush and let's do this as part of the exercise. Now with the feather basically it is black so I can just kind of come in, wow, and carefully watch yourself mister. Alright I'll get that brush and back to the black, I'm just going to come in real loosely and fill it in and instead of trying to paint over the black to get the highlight I am really just going to leave a space there if I can help it for the highlight and use the canvass as the highlight instead of trying to go back over. There are a couple of areas where we will take the white and just dab it in there, a little dab will do you. That will give it some depth as well. It is almost like a fashion illustration painting because you have accessories so like I said you can make the hat a little bit bigger, you could emphasize the feather and make it a little bit bigger. Now we are starting to see this thing come to life and have a little bit of flavor. All the pieces are starting to come together very film noir. I am going to clean the black out of the brush and dab the white and get rid of that water right there and dab the white and just give it a couple of swoops to give it some highlights. That's about it for the accessories."
