"Hi, I am David Clemen on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are going to learn how to draw characters. Now that we've drawn our character of the funny principal of a high school with the comb over, I am going to go back and show you different ways that you can draw eyes. We will start there and work our way to noses, mouths etc. Right now I am just going to show you how I practice drawing eyes and this is something that anyone can do because it is really hard to mess them up. Usually what I will start to do is, say someone is surprised, then usually their eyes are really big. So, make the eyes big like this. You can put the pupils at the top to show fear or surprise. If someone looks a little shady, you can squint the eyes and make them really small, like they are a secret spy or something. They look a little shifty. If it is a pretty girl, you can make her have soft eyes, this really big puppy dog eyes, and then add really large eyelashes. You can even put little dots at the end, that is what I like to do for a pretty girl, just to give emphasis. Then you can do someone that is half asleep, just kind of droopy eyes. And all I am really doing is really simple shapes. I mean that is a line and a half circle, a line and half circle. This is a semicircle. These are very simple but they are animated. So they give your character life. So, with simple lines and circles you have four different sets of eyes. You can just practice eyes all day, I can fill this entire sheet up with eyes. So, that is how I start with the eyes for a character. "
