"Hi, this is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about placing ads for bandmates. Now these days if you are going to be placing ads for bandmates, the only place to really do it is on the internet. The newspapers are too expensive and nobody really reads them. So people who are looking to join bands are always going to be checking online. Two best bets are probably Craigslist and Myspace, those are the two places that musicians are constantly checking on. Almost every major city has some sort of local musicians network and you can check there to find listings of people who are available, people who are seeking bands. When you post an ad, it is important to be very honest about who you are, what you want to accomplish and what you are looking for. Describe yourself and your musical interest, talk about the kind of person you want to have join your band and give links if you have them, some sound samples of your work so someone can hear what you are all about before they contact you. And also, ask the same from people who are going to be reading your ad, ask if you can hear samples of their work before they audition with you. It is important to know about the person that you are going to be auditioning before you meet so that you can figure out whether or not it is even worth meeting up. The most important thing about putting up an ad for a bandmate is that your communication is clear and honest so that both people know what they are getting into when they are meeting each other."
