"Hi this is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about cutting and pasting track segement in garageband. Now cutting and pasting track segments is a great tool for editing because it means you can select an area, remove it from the timeline, and place it somewhere else. Let me show you here's a piece that I recently did and I'm thinking it might be good to take this part over here and move it earlier on. Here's what the part sounds like, (playing) so what I'm going to do is select an area at a cut and I want from here to here, this is the full range of the piece. So I'm going to put my marker right over here, see I put it right there, and there's two different ways to cut. One you can go into edit and hit cut which is down here, or you can do this is what I usually do is hit the apple key and T, make sure you hit the area first, apple key, T, now it's a separate piece that I can move around. As you can see I can move it around where ever I want, so I'm going to push it back to over here and that's how you move the segments, all you have to do is hold click down and drag and put it where ever you want. So I'm going to put it right over here and now it's going to be at the beginning of the song (playing) if I want to bring it back I click down on it and I drag it back and now it's at the original place, so as you can see it's very easy to cut parts of your music and move them about anywhere you want."
