"Hi this is David Jackel on behalf of Expert Village and I'm here to talk to you about using the keyboard feature on garageband. Now the keyboard feature allows you to enter midi notes without having a actual midi controller connected to your computer. It's directly on the screen and it allows you to manipulate notes as if there is a full keyboard in front of you. Here is how it works go into window, select keyboard and a keyboard appears in front of you. So with the keyboard you can select individual notes the downside of course is you don't have very much is you can't hit two notes at the same time. But you can pick out notes this way and later on you can manipulate them, up here you see which part of the piano is actually selected. You can move up higher with the really high notes or you can move it down lower and hit the lower notes, this is a great tool if you want to try a new idea and you plan to play with the notes later on and actually edit them so it sounds a little more cohesive. The keyboard option isn't the idea way to enter midi notes the idea way is to use an actual midi controller. But it's not bad and if your on an airplane or train its a great thing to have."
