"Okay, now I'm going to start laying in some color. And I'm going to start from the background and work toward the front. So the first thing I want to do is I want to lay down some of the green of the wall behind there. And that green of the wall is kind of got a yellow cast to it. It's a very bright color relative to everything else. Our still life itself is relatively dark, so let's grab a green that represents that, and see what I have that's close to what I see and the value seems to be close to this color. So let's just start adding some of this into that background area. Now, this point, I'm not going to care a whole lot about getting it right. In fact, that's a a good attitude to take whenever you're doing any kind of painting or drawing, is that there's no mistakes, it doesn't matter whether it's right, what you're really doing is you're training your eye to see and in the process, you may end up with something that's wonderful. But, it's the process that's fun and creative, so let's just get some color down back here using our drawing framework to work around. And notice that I'm not being too concerned whether or not that background color shows through, in fact I like the background color to show through. Now we have the beginnings of that, and I can tell already that this is not the right green, but that's okay. Green is green for the time being, it'll get us to where we need to be. So we've started the process of adding color, let's continue with a lighter green."
