"Again, working from the background toward the foreground. We haven't yet addressed anything of our textural patterns in the cloth. So, let's go ahead and start establishing our cloth. And, because the cloth has such extremes in contrast from a dark red to a bright red to some light colors, greens and some whites I see and some blues. Let's just start to frame out what those shapes are. I'll start working from the area right under the kitty and establish some of those red values, the darkest red values. Generally, to try and create the beginnings of the patterns that I see. And, I see a rectangle here generally that runs under the foot. And, then I see a little triangular thing in front of that that's pointing to the almost pointing to here. So, it's starting at about this position. It comes across this way, comes down this way. Then, there's a flower. Some greenery. Some more greenery. Some blue shape in here that needs some refining. And, then it's generally dark red. So, let's just go ahead and put in that dark red tone. And, follow that same pattern looking at that to get a feel for the shapes. Now, one of the things about pastel that's interesting is that if we go dark we can go lighter on top of the dark. So, I'm not too concerned if my drawing of these patterns are precise and accurate. Because, I can always come back and add lightness later."
