"Again, working from the background toward the foreground and with the idea in mind of putting down the middle values. Those colors halfway between white and black, the middle values. I'm going to work on the area that will become the foliage of that plant. So I'm going to start shaping the general shapes of those leaves using a middle more dark green than we have used in the past. And I'm just going to at this point rough those shapes out as I see them. Not necessarily with absolute accuracy. That's not critical. I just want to create some shapes that represent those leaves so that I have something to work and refine from. We work roughly, generally with the idea in mind that we can't make a mistake. That if my leaf happens to be off by a half an inch. Nobody's ever going to see that. They're only going to see this and if it works here this is what's important."
