"Okay. Again I'd like to work from the background toward the foreground. And one of the things that is most in the background is that vase in which the flowers exist. And the primary color that I see in that vase is a blue green, a kind of a gray and then there's some brown. I'm going to lay down the blue green first. In a fairly dark tone because that's the color that I see. And I notice that there's a band of burnt orange or brown at the top so just under that frame I'm just, under that brown tone, I'm going to just fill in a blue tone. We're kind of using the same basic technique that we were using to establish the overall shape but now we're working with colors. Now I can tell already that this blue is wrong. But there's nothing wrong. That blue is a blue to start with. We'll refine it as we go along."
