on 6/30/2009 The technique is incorrect. One major rule of all glides/moonwalks is that one heel is up and one heel is down at all times. There must never be a moment where both feet are flat or both heels are raised. Just before you slide your left foot you drop the heel of your right foot and both feet are flat at the same time. It kills the illusion of walking because when we walk we have one heel up and one down (thus this being the major rule of glides). Also, the side glide is actually the same as a heel-toe shuffle but with sliding to make you travel faster. Some dancers will actually change between the two in order to adjust the speed in which they travel. When the left foot slides up to the right foot, the right foot should begin to turn to face the other foot so when they meet you have the two feet facing inwards briefly right before you switch feet and end up with two heels faci...

"Next we have what is called the slide glide this is a brief demonstration. Again without me looking at my legs. So the illusion of this move is it is going to look like you are running forward but you are running to the side. So again we are using the same principle as the moonwalk one leg bares all the weight so that the other leg could glide or slide across the floor. So here is the move broken down on its steps. Your feet are going to point in the direction that you are going to so your front foot is going to point to the right side so I'm going to go to the right, while my weight is on my rear foot. So now this guy could slide. When it is done sliding I'm going to point it forward and my back foot is going to point that way. When it is done sliding you switch. So again very slow point when it is done sliding, switch, back glide slide and you are switching again, back end slides. In the beginning you are going to be looking at your legs but eventually this is why you want to practice with a mirror and you want to look straight ahead like so. Don't forget to use your hands, mimic running motions right coordinated arm swings is what we are trying to go for. You want to mimic running you are not going to do it like this, you are going to do it like this."
