"All right. This clip we'll be doing the nose for the female characters and noses are really tricky when it comes to girls. They can't stand out too much because if they do, they completely steal the show. They stand out way too much and they create a completely different character than what you might be going for but they're very important because they can't be too little either. We'll go back to our test page here. It's a classic example of too much or too little can really make or break your picture. So, I'm doing most female characters ones that you don't want either insanely ugly or insanely weird, odd looking. You're going to use the safe little schwoop. Nothing too big, but it definitely tells the audience or the viewer that there is a nose there. It's not like just a blank page. But if you would make it too big, basically what you're saying is this is a little bit more of a butch, masculine girl that we are doing here. The more of this detail you give to the nose, the more, I don't know. For lack of a better word, the more manly they end up looking. Now if you go too small, she turns into a Who. You want people to know that there's a nose there and you want to give it a little bit of shape. But you don't want it to be so small that it's just like a little line there because that's almost too little. You're basically saying this girl's nose is the size of an insect. She's the tiny, tiny little nose there. We don't want that. We want to give it more shape. Basically this character would end up being very thin or dainty. That's what that nose says. Whereas this nose is normal. This girl would end up looking like that girl with her, freaking squeezing her biceps. Less on that little line the cleaner. And this one, we'll go to the far extreme and give this girl a long nose. See, this can very easily end up being like a witch or someone. An evil stepmother character. Alright, so going back to our main page, keeping our girl fairly normal looking, we're going to give her just a regular little swoop. We're not going to call too much attention to it, but people will definitely know there's a nose there. So basically this girl should end up looking like your standard, everyday girl and the more we do to it basically, the more we thicken it up or broaden it, the more manlike she's going to be or perhaps wicked looking. So, nice people have small noses in the cartoon world for the most part unless you're going for more of a goofy look. So there you go. There's your nose and we'll move on."
