" Hi! This is Dave Foydel with expertvillage.com. In this clip I will teach you the automatic card discovery. So here is the automatic card discovery; now I will need a volunteer to help me here, I will call up Darrel. Darrel is the owner of the Wonder Ground, the fine establishment we are in today. Darrel, I need you to go ahead and pull a card out, so go ahead and pick any card out you like. I won’t look but you can show it to the audience. Once they have seen them, turn back around, stick it back into the pack, square it up, and put it behind my back, come back out again, and one card, one card only, will now be going in the opposite way, just like this and was that your card? Yes it is, there you go, thank you very much. Here is the explanation for the automatic card discovery. It is regular cards. You have them literally take any card they want to and they put it out; in this case here we have queen of spades. Now normally I would not see the card before the trick is over, but just for showing you there, it is the queen of spades. What happens is as they look at that queen of spades, I turn around. When I turn around, what I do is I turn the deck over then I take the top card now and turn that the opposite way. So what I have this one card going face down, all the rest of the cards going face up but when I come out, I keep it nice and squared up. I do not want to be like this at all or any card sticking out, it is nice and square. So when I come back around, I have the spectator put their card back in, they put it back in like this, and then I go ahead and push it all the way in, but it looks right now as it is going in the deck the regular way, but really it is going in the deck like this. So I square it all the way up, so it is all lost in there. I put the cards behind my back. When I do that I turn this card back over again and then I bring them back out, like this and then as I go through one card is upside-down in the deck, which was their card the queen of spades. So just remember to keep those cards nice and square together, and you will be doing a great trick. "
