" Hi I'm David Cantieni and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to be showing you the many aspects of playing the Irish wooden flute. If you are interested in more information or finding out other places where you may find me you can go to www.digdigmusic.com or you could email me at digdig@cracker.com. Well I'm going to show you how to hold a wooden flute. Irish style. Now there are actually several ways that people do this and I will show you my prefer way which is well it is close to the way that you would hold a silver flute if you know how to hold the silver flute. Obviously three fingers the left hand is closer to the top end. Your right hand is towards the bottom. There are left handed players so if you happen to be left handed and you don't have a key flute. The key flutes has some more specific issues with right and left handedness. On the left hand you would want to bend your put your index finger right there and bend that finger over and then follow with the other fingers. On the right hand traditionally you would play with a straight fingers. So that is how that will look. There are people there is a way to do where you actually rest it on your shoulder and use straight fingers on both hands. I can not play that way so I'm not going to show you any further. If it works for you that is good. So this is the prefer method for holding the flute and there of course there is a issue on how to hold it on your mouth that is the way that I will do it. You could actually support it like that. "
