Hi my name is David Cantieni and on behalf of Expert Village I'd like to share with you some techniques for learning Irish tunes by ear. Well I'm going to show you how to take a jig apart this one is Jackson's jig. I show you the A part and share with you one of the things I might be thinking about when I'm learning this tune. It is in G or if you don't know the name of the notes it starts here and it uses this scale. It starts three notes up from there. That note which I call a B. what you'll notice is you have four scaler figures. So you always start there on the B and you go B A G down and then from the B you go up. There it goes and then you start centering around this E note with two fingers. So it is almost the same type of figures and then. Then an arpeggio. So two different sorts of arpeggio. I think that was a G and then back to just the beginning. So I'll play those two phrases. Here is the ending. Let me do that again. How about I play that all together now.
