So I would like to give another little clue from this chapter that I call 10 Reasons Why Musicians Fail and how not to is a really important one. It is number 4 actually out of the 10 and it is called There's a Lack of Commitment from your Fellow Musicians in your group. Whoa, this is an important one because it brings up an issue that is kind of a business task that a lot of bands playing together for a long time don't like to do is called putting together a Band Agreement sometimes known as a Partnership Agreement. It is a business document that you create with your fellow musicians. I'm assuming that you have made a commitment to go and give it your best shot to be a star and what you need to do is think about certain issues that are going to be a main stay of your business success. For example, in a band agreement you sit around to make one. You sit around in a group maybe after rehearsal or something and you tackle issues that are related to the business side. Who owns the name of our name. Meaning if your band breaks up, can 3 or 4 people pretend that they are the name of that band and start forming under that name. Well that would be a bad idea, wouldn't it because it has happened where several bands are performing and no one knows who the real band was because it's snot, they've broken up. I believe in a lot of these issues come up in 10 Reasons Why Musicians Fail that you should have a vote and you should decide how you vote on all of the issues that are coming up in the band agreement in this case. I think you should be the 3 Musketeers, all for one and one for all. You can be democratic you know but what happens with that is you have to say 3 or 5 people in the band, little clicks happen in the group. You start voting on different issues and one group always looses. It breaks up a band so I believe that every issue that comes up in a Band Agreement there should be an unanimous agreement on that issue. You have to address this. You are a business. When you are a record label, you are group, yuou are a business.
