"We're going to do some more splattering so I'm going to show you how to build a splatter shield. So you want to get a piece of plastic or a piece of glossy printing, possibly from some junk mail and you want to fold it over in half and tear a random shaped area, roughly of about two square inches. Not any more than that and you could go smaller. And to splatter instead of using my finger because if you splatter a lot you'll make your finger go numb, you get a brush with some paint on it and put the splatter shield where you want it, hold it down and then hit it against the water bottle or an eraser or something that's not completely hard and splatter. Now you want to change this out and turn it a little bit every two to six strokes because otherwise it will start forming an edge. The splatter technique can improve the life and interest of your paintings. Let me show you what happens. See? And then with a toothbrush it will do a different type of splatter. A more uniform type of splatter."
