Ok? What I'm going to do now is paint over watercolor that's already dry. And when you do that, it forms a hard edge. If that's what you're looking for. In some cases, you'll want hard edges, and in other cases, you'll want soft edges. So if you want a hard edge, you'll need to let the paint underneath it dry. Now, watercolors are additive, so that if you paint one transparent color over another color, then you'll be able to see that there's another color, and it will 'add' to the color on top. To give you an idea how this is going to work, I can paint this red over this purple, and you'll be able to see the purple right through it. See? So it's additive in that respect. So if you paint a transparent wash over some deep, dense color, then you're going to be able to see that color through it. It will be affected by the transparent color on top, but it will have its own color underneath it. Now, next thing we're going to cover is wet-on-wet, which will give you soft edges.
