"The lyrical structure in the pre-chorus can be very sparse. This is going to be one of your more free flowing areas in which it doesn't really even have to be a consistent rhyme pattern. It can be a phrase, it can be one word. It can be something like that. Because a pre-chorus, really depending on your song and depending on your theme, depending on just the general feel that you're trying to go for. It can be a separate section. It can be a four line stanza, which is the example that we're going to use with an A, B, C, B format or A, A format, or A, A, A, A, or A, B, A, B, or some type of rhyming pattern. It can be a four line stanza, or it can just be a word. It can be something short. It really just kind of depends on, for one, the theme of your song, and also just the general flow from the verse and the chord structure that you're using within the pre-chorus. For today, we're going to be using the A, B, A, B format of writing and this is just kind of a, it's a strong, it's a strong poetic devise and it's a strong poetic structure and it's, so especially if you're just now starting to write a rock song, it's a good thing to start out with. For example, what we're using is, "pretty pages, precious patrons, laws in need of grace, captivating stars and angels, a world without a face". Like I said, this is going to be something purpose wise, it's kind of, if you can, almost make the situation seem more hopeless to contrast the chorus, and then to be able to differ it and transition it from the verse into the chorus."
