"So let's talk about our song structure. Song structure is going to be a very important part of any song you write and any genre you write and there are going to be key elements that are happening almost every genre such as the chorus, such as the verse and a thing like the bridge and we're going to talk about all of those because all of those are just as they are important to the the other genres they are important to rock and roll and we're going to talk about the purpose of each of those both musically and lyrically. But before we really get going, before we really get started in writing a song, one of the other things that we do to prepare for a song is to try to develop at least a basic, basic outline of how we want a song to flow and the way I typically do it and in a way that is very popular in a lot of songs, and in a lot of rock songs is to structure a verse, pre chorus, second verse, pre chorus, chorus, bridge, chorus and this can be changed, this can be different and another element that we're going to be adding to our rock song is the guitar rift, whether that happens in the kind of in between section for your songs or whether it happens in a in kind of a intro or outro or over top some of the chorus or whatever. A guitar rift is going to be a very important part too. But I do want you to know that you can change that song structure out. Sometimes the part of the creativity of writing songs and part of the creativity of rock and roll music is that you can break the rules and that you can change things around. However if you're just starting out writing rock music I would suggest at least starting with an outline and once you get more comfortable with that to move from there and then start to branch out from there."
