"CODY KIMMEL: Hi. My name is Cody Kimmel, and I'm the lead singer of the band Eliot Fitzgerald, and I'm here with the Expert Village to teach you how to write a folk song. And here's an example of our verse, chorus, and bridge of our folk song that we're calling "The Picture Song. [START SONG] "This morning when I woke up, I took a box of crayons, and now I sat down at the table to pour my life out through my hands. After five good minutes I stopped to see what I've been drawing to find that every line is crooked and the shading over done. I believed I started crying, when I realized I'd never be like all those artists in museums, and all the painters on the street. And as my tears were still flowing, I put my hand up to my face as you walk in to the room, dad, this is all that I could say. I know my picture isn't perfect, but would you hang it on the fridge and tell your friends how much you love me, in spite of all the things I've been? I know I'm not that good at drawing, but you know, dad, that I tried. So please take from me this picture to make it perfect while it's resting in your eyes. Cause I can't draw any better than I can't live. In perfect love at my best is all I can give." [END SONG] And there is an example of the verse, the chorus, and the bridge of a folk song. Good luck, keep on protesting, keep on thinking and keep on writing that folk music."
