"Hi, my name is Dalton, and we’re going to be making a chord out of the C major scale. First off you’ve got to find your C, that’s the root note of the chord. It’s on the third fret of the A string, which is right here. A chord consists of three notes in a scale, the third note and the fifth not of the scale. The first note we need to find is the third not of the scale. This is the second (fifth fret A string), and this is the third (second fret D string). So these two notes are going to be in the chord. Now we have to find the fifth, which is right here on the fifth fret of the D string. So you have this note, this note and this note. But you can’t play these two at the same time because they are on the same string. So we have to find an alternate placement for one of the notes. So we’re going to come down here to this C on the 15th fret of the A string. And here’s our third note on the 14th fret of the D string. And here’s our fifth note which is on the 12th fret of the G string. So together these make a C major chord like so. "
