"Okay, you ready for our third chord? Alright, we're going to play the D major chord now. So for our D major, we're going to use our first finger to play the A on the G string (the second fret. Now, we're going to use our second finger to play the F sharp. Remember? It's between the F and the G. The F sharp is on the second fret of the high E string. Our third finger here goes exactly where it probably wants to at this point on the third fret of the B string to play the D. We start picking through this one on the open D string. The A and the E we ignore. Those strings we do not touch for this chord. D, the G String, the B string and this. The only arch you have is from the third fret of the B string to the F sharp on the E. Try picking through this and try strumming. When you strum make sure you start with your strum on the D string. Great! We can see on the chart here that the x's that represent strings not to be played would be the low E and the A string. We have open D (our first finger on the second fret of the G string). Third finger on the third fret of the B. The second finger on the second fret of the high E. I recommend setting up your first and second fingers before your third, because it can be hard to tuck your third finger in there (or your second finger rather). So, here is also how it would look in notation form and this is our F sharp. Good luck!"
