Series Summary

Learning to play the guitar for the first time is one of those difficult but rewarding experiences you look back on and appreciate in retrospect. Despite the raw, sore fingertips and the drudgery of practicing daily, playing the guitar allows you to express yourself in ways that words just can’t do. Your playing ability develops with a measure of patience, instruction, natural talent, and a commitment to excellence. If you want to get good, you have to play whether you feel like it or not.

So, you’ve been consistently practicing your basic guitar techniques and you’re ready to learn more? Then it’s time to try this set of guitar lessons as the next step in your progress as a musician. In these free videos, learn the rest of the notes on the guitar, including the A and D strings, how to play the classic songs “Amazing Grace” and “Greensleeves,” how to play a C major scale, G, C, and D major guitar chords, how to read chord charts, and how to play simple chord progressions. Once you’ve mastered these lessons, you should be ready to move up to the next level in your guitar training.

on 10/23/2008 Hi,

Thank you for all that you do. I noticed you have some great lessons here. I just launched a new social space called MusicianMatch.com for musicians, bands, fans, and music industry professionals. Would you please create a FREE Music Industry Professional (MIP) profile and upload your videos to advertise/offer/sell your services to our members? We have some great, young, raw talent that will need some direction from someone with your skills.

Of course, you can also register a second musician profile (or just use the MIP profile for everything) and network with our musicians to make music and/or enter our Best Internet Musician contest for up to $500 in Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Keys/Piano, and Turntables. Would you please stop by and tell me what you think? Here is one of our MIP profiles, http://www.musicianmatch.com/woodshed . Thanks for your time....
