"Okay, so now for our first new chord in this section. The E major chord. Now, for the E major chord we are going to want to have our open E as our base note. We're going to take our second finger and play that on the second fret of the A string, playing the B note. Our third finger we are going to stack underneath it. So we are going to move our second finger back. This is a stacking chord. Okay, now we want to hear both of these. Now, our first finger is going to play the first fret of the G string. Which the note is G sharp by the way. We want to arch that and we want to have the open B and the open high E at the bottom. This will be our E major. I want you to pick through it and give it a strum. On our chord chart, our E major will have all the strings included. Open E (second fret of A, second fret of D, first fret of the G, open E) we don't go past the second fret. Here's our notation. That low E, you really wouldn't want to have to read that, but sometimes you do. We have B, E, G sharp (with the sharp sign), open B and high E. So master your E major chord."
