"Okay, now let's learn some notes on the G string. We have open G, and if we play the second fret, with the second finger we have the note A. Notice also something you might have noticed before, is that you were allowed to have any fingers down behind this A that you like. So you can keep your first finger here for support. G, then A, however you are comfortable. The note that is furthest south will be the one that sounds, furthest up the neck. Okay, let's find the octaves. This is open G, we also had a G on the low E string. Okay, this is A on the G string, we also had the open A though. So try playing G in its octave and A in its octave. Between the A and the G here, we'll have G sharp or A flat, something we'll have to deal with later on down the road."
