"Now then we are going to talk about the crashes, okay. I have an eighteen inch crash; it’s a Paiste and then I have a Zildjan custom nineteen inch rock crash and then I have a Paiste ten inch splash/accessory cymbal. Now then, Cymbals are primarily used at the end of a verse; at the end of a chorus or maybe at the climax of the song, okay. Usually they are also used at the end of drum rolls, okay. So I’ll demonstrate, I’ll be crashing on the Zildjan; I’ll play a standard four four beat and then I will drum roll down and then I will hit the crash cymbal. So here we go, one, two, ready go. Now then I will use the Paiste in conjunction with the Zildjan; and I will buff it up a little bit, so here we go. One, two ready go. Now then I will use all three Cymbals now, the splash and both crashes. One, two ready go. You can see the many variations that you can use with the Crash and the Splash."
