The first step in getting this ball rolling is make contact with a session leader here or a producer here. A lot of the songwriters in this town want to produce. If you see somebody's name on an album that you love, you love the songs that they write, maybe try to make contact with them. A lot of these guys have Myspace pages. You can track them down through their publisher. Talk to them about producing a project on you. A lot of musicians are great session leaders, meaning that they're in control, they're responsible for writing music charts, they're responsible for keeping the session flowing. They love producing, having a part in bringing a project to life and also they hope to stick with it. If it's something that gets signed by a major label, they want to be in that production loop and stay as part of the process so if you call on a musician to be a session leader, he will bring you here just ahead of your session, write charts for your session, we have a way of doing that here in Nashville, a number system, that all the musicians here read and he'll make sure that your session goes without a hitch, that it goes smoothly and that you'll get the best performances in the shortest amount of time.
