"Hi, my name is Chris Latham and we're here today at EMI Music Publishing's Nashville recording studio on Music Row with Expert Village. Hi, in our first segment, we're going to talk about budgeting just so you know what to expect when you come here to Nashville to record a project. These musicians, as much fun as they have, this is their living so it does have some costs involved. For a demo recording which would be for like an artist demo that you're going to pitch to a label or a song demo, the general budget is about two hundred dollars for a three hour block of their time to come and play here and that's a rough estimate. So if you have a band of five musicians that will be playing your session, then that's roughly a thousand dollars plus the leader gets twice as much as the rest of the musicians. The leader, who is responsible for leading the session, also making charts for the musicians to read, the music that they read, will get four hundred dollars for that block of time."
